Mast Cells, Histamine & Modern Life: Environmental Pollutants, Immune Resilience, and the Future of Wellness with Professor Peter Smith & Reine DuBois.
On June 1st The Health Lodge hosted an enlightening seminar with Professor Peter Smith, one of Australia’s foremost experts in allergy, immunology, and integrative health.
With a distinguished career spanning clinical practice and research, Prof. Smith has held positions at renowned institutions including Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College London, and currently contributes to Griffith University and Bond University.
In this special recorded event, Prof. Smith exploreed how environmental factors—ranging from indoor pollutants and chemical exposures to food additives and microplastics in our food and water—contribute to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), POTS, histamine intolerance, and other rising immune conditions. He outlined how these modern stressors disrupt both immune and nervous system function and he discussed integrative strategies to help the body adapt and recover.
We also showcase how our Wellness Accommodation and chlorine-free Byron Bathhouse have been intentionally designed to support detoxification, immune resilience, and nervous system regulation in the face of 21st-century health challenges.
